FIXED COSTS COURSE
Please click here to book.
Lord Justice Jackson’s report on fixed costs was published on 31st July 2017 and is available here.
It proposes a new Intermediate Track for most civil claims between £25,000 and £100,000 and introduces 4 bands of complexity, both in the Fast Track and the new Intermediate Track.
Part 36 is completely changed and ring fenced fees for counsel in Complexity Band 4 and all Intermediate Track claims are introduced.
In the Intermediate Track there are 15 stages and there are fixed pre-issue costs for most civil work under £100,000.
These proposals represent a revolution.
This course is a first detailed analysis of Lord Justice Jackson’s proposals and how lawyers can best make them work.
It is a completely new course by the author of three books on the subject who advised Lord Justice Jackson in relation to Fixed Costs and was present with him at the launch of the report.
The fee is £250.00 plus VAT and that includes lunch and provision of electronic notes in advance for you to use and to print to take to the course if you wish.
The course will run from 10.00am to 4.30pm.
My new book Personal Injury Small Claims, Portals and Fixed Costs deals in detail with the existing fixed costs regime and runs to 1,300 pages and 3 volumes and costs £80 and can be ordered here. Book the course and the price is £50.
